Levitra is a medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It is also known by its generic name of vardenafil. Levitra works by relaxing the muscles of the penis and increasing the blood flow to that area.

Levitra can be taken at least 60 minutes before having sexual intercourse. It should not be taken more than once in a 24 hour period of time. It can be taken with or without food.
It is suggested that one initially start off taking 10 mg of Levitra on an as needed basis. Depending on efficacy and tolerability, Levitra can be either increased to 20 mg of decreased to 5 mg. No more than 20 mg should be taken in a day’s period of time.

Do not take Levitra if you are allergic to vardenafil or any other ingredient contained in Levitra. Certain medications can cause a sudden decrease in blood pressure such as riociguat, nitrate drugs used to treat chest pain or heart problems, such as nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or recreational drugs such as amyl nitrates or nitrites. If taking medications such as avanafil, sildenafil, or tadalafil, which are other medications used to treat erectile dysfunction then you should not take Levitra. Other medications that could affect Levitra include antibiotics, antifungal medications, high blood pressure medications, heart rhythm medications, and medications to treat HIV and AIDS.
Levitra side effects
Common side effects from taking Levitra include back pain, stuffy or runny nose, flushing, headache, dizziness, and upset stomach. More serious side effects include vision changes, ear ringing, sudden hearing loss, seizures, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, irregular heart beat, hand, ankle, or foot swelling, and symptoms of a heartattack such as chest pain, chest pressure, nausea, sweating, or pain spreading to the jaw or shoulder. Should you experience any of the more serious side effects, or if you experience an allergic reaction or an erection that is painful or lasts for longer than 4 hours, seek medical attention as soon as possible. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include hives, swelling of the tongue, face, lips, or throat, and difficulty breathing.
Levitra should be stored at room temperature in an area that is away from heat and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
